Think Tank-Advisory Board Sponsor Opportunities

Fellowship Sponsorships

Overview of Fellowships

VOMI offers 12-month UNPAID global-virtual fellowships to aspiring "Virtual Organization" researchers interested in learning or exploring how to practice their craft in a strictly 100% "Virtual Organization" environment. However, candidates who are selected to participate in a project funded by a VOMI Board Sponsor will receive a monthly stipend or compensation during the course of the fellowship, depending on the amount of the grant received.

Fellows will assist in upcoming programs and publications of the VOMI Global think Tank and Advisory Board. Fellows work "behind-the-scenes" with the Chair(s) of one or more committees and the Chairman of VOMI on upcoming programs (symposiums, colloquiums, summits, conferences, etc.) related to their discipline. The fellowship program provides an immersive opportunity to conduct virtual organization and related discipline research; and experience first-hand the impact of integrating a specific discipline with virtual organization management.

Fellowship Stipend

All selected fellows, excluding fellows sponsored by a VOMI Board Sponsor, who have successfully completed their fellowship will receive a $10,000-$25,000 stipend for tuition and education expenses subject to meeting all other stipend award requirements.

Types of Fellowship Sponsorships

  • Private Funding.     Candidates are able to obtain private or public funding for their fellowship on their own. VOMI requires proof of such funding prior formal selection.
  • Personal Funding.     Candidates who will personally fund their own fellowship. They will be required to certify that they have the financial means to do so as part of the application process and prior formal selection.
  • VOMI Board Sponsor.     Private industry, foundations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, US government or quasi-governmental entities willing to sponsor one or more fellowships.

Fellowship Requirements

The fellowship program is intended for Master of Science students in their final year, or Ph.D students, majoring in a specific discipline -- or recent Postdocs -- who are interested in virtual organizations and specific field research and publication, and are actively developing their work and career; and is open to all applicants worldwide who meet our requirements. Applicants must commit to regularly scheduled hours each week during the 12-month period.

In addition, candidates who are selected to participate in a project funded by a US government, or government-affiliated, entity through VOMI, will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information; in which case, eligibility requirements include US citizenship.

Application and Sponsorship Deadline

Our fellowship program is Year-Round. Applications are reviewed throughout the year for candidates who meet our requirements. Sponsorships are also welcome and accepted year-round for one or more fellowships.
